Frost Warning for Tonight, May 2, 2017

frost warningTonight, Tuesday, May 2, 2017  They are calling for a frost! The weather predictions for this week show many night temperatures dipping into the lower 30’s. The cold, strong winds we are experiencing can also burn your plants.

Move potted annuals and tender vegetables indoors. If you have these items in the ground, be sure to cover with an old sheet or cloth to protect them. Never cover with plastic!

Tropical plants such as Hibiscus, Mandevilla, Sweet Potato Vines as well as peppers and cucumbers should not be outside until temperatures are over 50 degrees.

Bulb plants that have recently flowered; tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and perennials that have sprouted should not be harmed by this weather.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call!
